Iran's foreign minister speaks about a solution for normalizing the situation in the Middle East

The United States' return to fulfilling its obligations under the Islamabad memorandum could help normalize the situation in the Middle East.

This was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi during a telephone conversation with his Japanese counterpart Toshimitsu Motegi.

"The solution is simple. The American side's return to fulfilling its obligations and honoring its signature under the Islamabad memorandum of understanding will create the conditions for a return to a normal situation," the Iranian Foreign Ministry quoted him as saying.

Araghchi also told Motegi about the latest stages of the negotiations between Iran and Oman on the Strait of Hormuz and reported significant progress in consultations on determining a temporary route for the passage of ships through the strait.
