Azerbaijani weightlifter Tehran Mammadov wins gold at world championship in Doha

Azerbaijani weightlifter Tehran Mammadov has won the World University Championship in the Qatari capital of Doha.

The Azerbaijan Weightlifting Federation told Report about this.

The athlete, who competed in the up to 65 kg weight category, lifted 130 kg in the snatch and claimed a silver medal. In the clean and jerk, T. Mammadov lifted 159 kg and became the owner of a gold medal.

In the total of the two lifts (289 kg), the weightlifter finished ahead of all his rivals and won the champion's title.

It should be noted that Tehran Mammadov became the first Azerbaijani athlete to win at world championships among students.
