Zelensky: Kyiv is ready for compromises with Moscow on grain and energy

Ukraine is ready to seek compromises with Moscow to resolve the "most pressing issues" in the sphere of grain exports and energy, said Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.

"Grain, energy — these are painful issues for Ukraine and Russia. And these are painful issues for the whole world. For India today, for the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Asia, many countries. We are ready to look for a compromise with Russia."

At the same time, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called the idea of returning to the "grain initiative" unrealistic.

"A return to the Black Sea grain initiative is unacceptable. Ukraine asked Turkey to propose a moratorium on strikes on ships in the Black Sea. Such a moratorium cannot be monitored. That is why we abandoned this story, and now they are trying to revive it again. This is completely unacceptable and completely unrealistic," he said.

Earlier, the country's Minister of Agrarian Policy Taras Vysotsky noted that the closure of the Black Sea routes could deprive Ukraine of the ability to export about 30 million tons of grain and oilseeds, and the damage from the reduction in agricultural exports would exceed 10 billion dollars.
