Hungary expels 10 Russian diplomats
The government of Hungary has decided to expel 10 employees of the Russian embassy in Budapest, as it considers their activities incompatible with their diplomatic status.
This was announced by the head of Hungary's Foreign Ministry, Anita Orban.
"This decision serves to protect Hungary's security and sovereignty. It does not mean a severance of diplomatic relations with Russia. Hungary intends to continue the necessary dialogue, based on the principles of mutual respect and compliance with established rules," she noted.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has already commented on the situation, stating that "the response to the Russophobic lobby in Budapest will be harsh and painful."
