Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Turkey Discuss Reducing Regional Tensions
A telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Hakan Fidan.
As reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, during the telephone conversation, the ministers exchanged views on the current security situation and the growing tensions in the region. They also discussed the risks associated with recent events amid military escalation and their impact on regional stability.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov condemned the missile attack on the territory of the Republic of Turkey that occurred today and expressed support for the brotherly Turkish people.
It was noted that further military escalation could lead to undesirable consequences, and the ministers exchanged views on possible steps to foster an atmosphere of dialogue.
It was particularly emphasized that attacks on neighboring countries and any actions aimed against the territorial integrity of sovereign states are unacceptable during conflicts.
The strategic alliance and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey were highlighted as being of great importance in the current complex geopolitical environment. In this context, the importance of continuing mutual consultations and coordination on regional issues between the two countries was underscored.
During the telephone conversation, the ministers also exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest.
