Pashinyan declares Kazakhstan's interest in TRIPP project
Kazakhstan has shown interest in the 'Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity' (TRIPP) project.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this during a briefing.
'Since August, Kazakhstan has not hidden its interest in TRIPP. What might have caught their attention: a new international communication route is opening. You know that Kazakhstan is one of the largest players and actors in the international transport sphere, particularly in terms of the flow of goods to and from China. Our partners from Kazakhstan are trying to understand in more detail what transport opportunities are opening up and how this will affect them,' he said.
The Prime Minister noted that Kazakhstan is not the only country that has shown interest in the project.
'This is an open process, and we are not preparing to hide it from our partners. Naturally, we must also be ready to invite Kazakhstan, among others, to use the routes passing through Armenian territory for their exports, imports, and to consider (roads through Armenia - ed. On August 8 of last year, following a trilateral meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint declaration on peaceful settlement between Baku and Yerevan and the establishment of transport communication between the main part of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan. This project was named the 'Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity.'
