On April 11, a tree-planting campaign was held in the area known as "Beylik Gardens" in the village of Beylik, Lachin district, with financial support from the Karabakh Revival Fund and organized by the "Restoration, Construction, and Management Service in Lachin District" PLC.

The campaign was attended by Masim Mammadov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Lachin district; Rahman Hajiyev, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund; as well as heads of state agencies operating in the area, eco-activists, and local residents.

Speaking at the event, Special Representative of the President Masim Mammadov noted that "Beylik Gardens" is considered one of the most important components of Lachin district's rich heritage. Historically, this area was distinguished by its fertile soil and diverse fruit trees, contributing to the formation of the region's renowned horticulture traditions. The area played a special role both in the agricultural life of local residents and in maintaining the ecological balance of the territory.

"Despite suffering serious damage during the occupation, this area has once again become one of the main priorities for restoration and greening efforts. Today's tree-planting campaign in Lachin district is not merely an environmental initiative — it is also a significant contribution to the revival of our native lands," Mammadov said.

Rahman Hajiyev, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, stated that the project's primary goal is to transform this beautiful region into a place that is even more developed and ecologically sustainable than before.

"In this regard, the large-scale projects implemented by our state under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev are of particular importance for restoring ecological balance in the liberated territories. As the Karabakh Revival Fund, we onplace great importance to initiatives to restore ecological balance in Karabakh. Projects like these unite various segments of society around a common purpose, strengthening solidarity and a sense of responsibility. I am confident that through our joint efforts, Lachin will become one of the most beautiful and green corners of the region in the coming years," the Chairman of the Executive Board emphasized.

Local residents thanked the organizers of the tree-planting campaign, noting that the initiative is of particular importance for the greening of territories and restoration of ecological balance.

Following the speeches, the tree-planting campaign commenced.

It should be noted that within the framework of this project, implemented with financial support from the Karabakh Revival Fund, 700 fruit trees have already been planted across a 2.8-hectare area equipped with a modern drip irrigation system. In total, the planting of 1,280 fruit trees and 400 grapevine seedlings is planned for the site.

After the tree-planting campaign, participants toured Lachin city and familiarized themselves with the ongoing restoration and construction work.

At the same time, a broad exchange of views took place between the Special Representative's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Lachin district and the Karabakh Revival Fund regarding the implementation of future joint projects within the framework of Lachin district's restoration.

It should be noted that the village of Beylik was historically known for its fertile soil and its famous "Beylik Gardens," comprising diverse fruit trees. During the 30-year occupation, these areas were subjected to ecological terror, and the village's historic green cover was completely destroyed.

The village of Beylik, part of the Zabukh village administrative territorial district of Lachin, was occupied in 1992 and liberated by the Azerbaijan Armed Forces on December 1, 2020.

Following its liberation, the village was completely rebuilt with modern residential infrastructure, including individual houses, internal roads, electricity, water, gas, and communications lines, as well as the construction of social facilities.

After the completion of construction work, the phased resettlement of residents to Beylik village began.

It should be recalled that on May 27, 2025, President Ilham Aliyev, during his visit to Lachin district, met with residents moving to Beylik village and presented them with the keys to their homes. At that time, 38 families (153 people) were resettled in the village. Currently, 89 families (363 people) reside in Beylik village.
