Magyar threatens to remove president from office if he does not resign

The leader of the Hungarian party 'Tisa,' which won the parliamentary elections, Peter Magyar, stated that he would remove the country's president, Tamás Sulyok, and other officials from their positions if they do not resign voluntarily.

'If these officials do not resign voluntarily by May 31, then based on the mandate received from millions of Hungarians, we will remove them from office,' Magyar wrote on the social network X.

He specified that this applies to the President of Hungary, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the head of the National Office for the Judiciary, the head of the Constitutional Court, and the Prosecutor General.

The parliamentary elections in Hungary took place on April 12. According to the election results, the 'Tisa' party secures 141 seats in the Hungarian parliament, while the ruling alliance 'Fidesz - Christian Democratic People's Party' gets 52 mandates, as reported by the National Election Office of Hungary on April 18 after processing 100% of the votes.
