EU to hold first-ever meeting with Taliban representatives
The European Union will hold its first-ever meeting with representatives of the Afghan Taliban movement to discuss migration issues, Reuters reported.
The agency cites a European Commission representative saying the meeting is planned "at the request of some EU countries in Brussels," but its date has not yet been set. At the same time, the EC representative emphasized that this meeting does not mean official recognition of the Taliban movement by the EU.
