Britain, Germany, Italy and France consider lifting sanctions on Iran
Britain, Germany, Italy and France welcomed the agreement reached by Iran and the United States.
Leaders of the four European countries in a joint statement, which is cited by the AFP agency, expressed their readiness to lift sanctions from Tehran if it conducts its nuclear activities openly.
According to the communique, the countries of the "Group of Four" are ready to lift sanctions in response to "clear and verifiable actions" by Iran within its nuclear program. The leaders of Britain, Germany, Italy and France noted that they are considering cooperation with the US, Iran and the IAEA to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
Earlier, officials from the US, Iran and Pakistan, acting as a mediator, confirmed the reaching of an agreement between Washington and Tehran. It is planned to be signed in Geneva on June 19. According to Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, during the 60-day truce, the parties will discuss, among other things, Tehran's nuclear program.
