Iranian forces on Monday began striking American bases in the Middle East
Iranian forces on Monday began striking American bases in Jordan and Bahrain in response to attacks by U.S. armed forces against Iran, Press TV reports.
According to its data, Iran launched missiles at the Muwaffaq Salti airbase in Jordan, which is used by the U.S. Air Force, and at facilities at the base of the U.S. Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.
The Bahraini Ministry of Interior reports that explosions are heard at the U.S. fleet base. Air raid sirens warning of a missile attack are sounding in the kingdom.
At the same time, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reported "successful strikes on American air bases in Kuwait."
"Fighters of the IRGC Aerospace Forces in the third stage of the revenge operation <...> destroyed fuel tanks, the Patriot air defense system at the American base Ali Salem, Kuwait, as well as the strategic FPS radar system at the Ahmed al-Jaber base," the IRGC statement says, cited by Mehr agency.
Earlier, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that its forces on Monday night began delivering further strikes on Iran "to continue weakening its ability to attack civilian sailors and commercial vessels freely passing through the Strait of Hormuz."
CENTCOM emphasized that U.S. President Donald Trump "ordered the strikes to hold Iranian forces accountable."
