Turkey's Justice Ministry demands that Netanyahu be placed on international wanted list
Turkey's Justice Ministry has appealed to the country's Interior Ministry and Foreign Ministry with a demand to place Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the international wanted list through Interpol's so-called red notice on charges of committing crimes against humanity and genocide.
This was stated by the head of the ministry, Akin Gurlek.
It was reported earlier that the 11th Istanbul Criminal Court, which is hearing the case of the humanitarian flotilla "Sumud," issued an arrest warrant in July for Netanyahu and other defendants in the case on charges of crimes against humanity, genocide, deprivation of liberty, cruel treatment, intentional infliction of harm to health, robbery, and seizure of vehicles.
"In accordance with the arrest warrants issued on July 14, 2026, against Netanyahu <...> on charges of genocide, the Ministry of Justice has appealed to the Interior Ministry with a request to issue red notices for an international search; the relevant documents were also sent to the Foreign Ministry," the head of the Justice Ministry wrote on X.
"We categorically do not accept the claims that the Netanyahu administration, which is pursuing a policy of genocide in Gaza, is immune to prosecution. We will not allow the crimes committed in Gaza to be hushed up, and we will not allow those responsible to be protected by a shield of impunity. We will resolutely use all available legal means in accordance with national and international law," the Turkish minister said.
