Memorandum on defense cooperation with Turkmenistan approved
President Ilham Aliyev has signed a Decree approving the "Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Defense between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of Turkmenistan."

The document was signed in accordance with paragraph 17 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan and approves the intergovernmental memorandum concluded on June 22, 2026, in Baku.
After the memorandum enters into force, ensuring the implementation of its provisions has been entrusted to the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has been instructed to send the government of Turkmenistan a notification on the completion of the domestic procedures necessary for the document to enter into force.
