Sultan of Brunei strips daughter-in-law of titles over inappropriate behavior

Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah has stripped one of his daughters-in-law of all her titles over inappropriate behavior.

This was reported by the portal news.com.au.

According to its information, 33-year-old Pengiran Rabiatul Adawiyah — the wife of Prince Abdul Malik — was accused of disrespectful conduct toward the 80-year-old sultan, the world's longest-reigning monarch. He has ruled the country for more than 58 years.

The statement from the Office of the Grand Chamberlain does not specify what offense the daughter-in-law committed that was deemed unworthy of the spouse of a member of the royal family.

The sultan's decision did not affect the titles of her children — 10-year-old Princess Muthiah, 8-year-old Princess Fathiyah, 6-year-old Princess Khalisah and 16-month-old Princess Nabilah.
