Danish foreign minister condemns Israel's publication of tender for settlements near Jerusalem
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen has condemned Israel's decision to announce a tender for the construction of homes for Jewish settlers in the E-1 area near Jerusalem.
"The publication of the tender for the E1 settlement construction project in the occupied West Bank [of the Jordan River] is a destructive step by the government of Israel that undermines the two-state solution. Settlements constitute a clear violation of international law," the Danish politician noted on X.
Earlier, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and France called Israel's decision to announce the tender unacceptable and urged the government of the Jewish state to immediately withdraw these plans and halt the expansion of settlements in the West Bank.
