Four people killed in strike in southern Lebanon

At least four people were killed and five more were injured as a result of a strike on the town of Deir ez-Zahrani in the Nabatieh district in southern Lebanon.

This was reported by Lebanon's General Directorate of Civil Defense.

According to the statement cited by the Lebanese agency NNA, rescuers carried out search and rescue operations and cleared the rubble at the site of the strike. They managed to recover the bodies of three people killed from under the debris and take five injured people to the hospital.

The body of the fourth victim was recovered by another team. Efforts to search for people under the rubble are continuing.

Earlier, as a result of an Israeli strike on the town of Ansar in the Nabatieh district in southern Lebanon, according to the Ministry of Health, seven people were killed, including three children and two women, and two more people were injured.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the continuing Israeli attacks on the south of the country.

According to him, Israel repeatedly violates the provisions of the framework agreement, the work of the military coordination group, and the norms of international law providing for the protection of the civilian population.

Aoun called these violations "a clear message to the negotiation process and to U.S. efforts to implement the agreement."
