Pashinyan confident that work on TRIPP project will begin on the ground in 2026
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is confident that work on the ground for the implementation of the TRIPP project will begin in 2026.
As reported by Armenpress, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this while presenting the election program of the ruling Civil Contract party.
"I am confident that we will start work on the ground as early as 2026. According to my calculations, the fastest progress can be made in commissioning power transmission lines. This project will also create many jobs, and I hope we will provide employment for Armenian citizens, so companies won’t need to bring in labor from other countries," Pashinyan said.
He assured that the reconstruction of the railway sections Gyumri-Turkey border and Yeraskh-Nakhchivan border will be carried out very quickly, within 1-1.5 years.
One of the points in the "Economic Development" section of the Civil Contract party’s election program concerns the start of work on the implementation of the TRIPP (Trump’s Road to International Peace and Prosperity) investment project, at least with the launch of railway and power transmission infrastructure. This section also mentions the reconstruction of the Gyumri-Turkey and Yeraskh-Nakhchivan railway sections.
TRIPP is a joint Armenian-American investment project, an agreement for which was reached on August 8 during the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace summit in Washington, D.C., mediated by U.S. President Donald Trump. TRIPP will also provide a connection between the main part of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan.
