Kazakhstan redistributes oil exports due to adjustments in transit via Druzhba pipeline
Kazakhstan will redistribute 260 thousand tons of oil in May due to the inability to deliver it to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline.
The oil will be redirected through Russia, including via the Ust-Luga port and the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), as reported by the Kazakh Ministry of Energy.
As specified by the ministry, 100 thousand tons of oil will be redirected to the Ust-Luga port, and 160 thousand tons to the CPC system.
The Ministry of Energy assured that the adjustment of the delivery schedule will not affect the annual oil production plan in Kazakhstan, and alternative routes will fully ensure the stability of exports, according to TASS.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak reported the cessation of transit of Kazakh oil to Germany through the Druzhba pipeline starting from May 1. Kazakhstan's Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov stated that supplies would resume after the elimination of technical obstacles. Last week, Transneft declared that it does not expect a prompt resumption of the transit of Kazakh oil to Germany.
