Donald Trump criticized Spain's migration policy after the crisis in Ceuta
U.S. President Donald Trump spoke out sharply against Spain, declaring that it has no control over its state borders. The American leader published the statement on the social network Truth Social.
“Very sad what is happening in Spain, a country with zero control over its borders,” Trump wrote.
The reason for the criticism was the large-scale migration crisis in the Spanish exclave of Ceuta in northern Africa, where a mass breach of the border occurred by people arriving from the Moroccan side. The situation in the kingdom had already caused a stir earlier amid domestic political pressure on the government of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and mass protests.
