Pezeshkian: U.S. naval blockade threatens global stability
The U.S. naval blockade poses a threat to the entire world, stated Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
U.S. President Donald Trump stated on April 29 that he intends to continue the naval blockade of Iran until Tehran completely abandons its nuclear program, highlighting the high effectiveness of this pressure compared to military strikes.
The Iranian President, in turn, noted that Iran's adversaries have changed their approach in confronting the country and have shifted to economic pressure, including a naval blockade of Iran and restrictions on the country's maritime trade.
"Any attempt to impose a naval blockade and introduce restrictions violates international law, poses a threat to the interests of the countries and peoples of the region, as well as to global peace and stability, and is doomed to fail," Pezeshkian said on the occasion of Persian Gulf Day in Iran.
The Iranian President added that the Persian Gulf region is not a place for imposing unilateral will, but rather a part of the system of international interaction, according to his press service.
