Iran to ensure security in Strait of Hormuz after eliminating threat - IRGC
Iran will be able to ensure the safe and stable passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz once it neutralizes the threat posed by the United States and Israel.
This was stated by the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
“After neutralizing the threats from the aggressors (referring to the United States and Israel – ed.) and establishing new rules, safe and stable transit through the strait will become possible,” the statement said, as posted on the IRGC Navy’s page on X.
The naval forces of the corps expressed gratitude to captains and shipowners “for adhering to Iranian regulations in the Strait of Hormuz and contributing to regional maritime security.”
On May 5, President Donald Trump announced that the United States had decided to suspend Operation Project Freedom, which organizes the transit of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, until information is received that negotiations on a deal with Iran could be successfully concluded and an agreement reached. He noted that the United States had received a corresponding request from “Pakistan and other countries.”
