Six volcanoes are erupting at once in Indonesia

Six volcanoes in Indonesia are simultaneously in a state of eruption.

This was reported by KP.RU, citing data from the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Transport, and Volcanology Agency.

The third, elevated danger level has been set for the Anak Krakatau, Semeru, Ibu, Laki-Laki, and Sinabung volcanoes. The second danger level is in effect for the Lewotolok volcano.

Volcanic activity in the country has been observed since August 31. On Sunday, Semeru ejected a column of ash to a height of about a thousand meters, while Anak Krakatau also continues to erupt.

Specialists at Indonesia's Center for Volcanology note that the eruptions of Semeru and Anak Krakatau are not connected to each other, since each of the volcanoes has its own magmatic system.
