Dua Lipa demanded 15 million dollars from Samsung for copyright infringement - photo
British pop singer Dua Lipa filed a lawsuit against Samsung and demanded compensation of 15 million dollars for using her image on TV packaging without the performer's permission, Reuters reports.
The singer accused the company of violating copyright, trademark rights, and rights to use her image.
According to the lawsuit, Samsung placed a copyrighted photo of the singer on cardboard boxes with televisions intended for retail sale. In Dua Lipa's opinion, the company used the performer's popularity for its own benefit, creating the impression that Lipa collaborates with Samsung.
The photo in question was taken backstage at the Austin City Limits music festival in 2024. As stated in the lawsuit, Lipa owns all rights to this image.
The singer learned that Samsung was using her photo back in June 2025. She contacted the company demanding that it stop using the image, but the electronics manufacturer repeatedly refused to do so, according to Lipa's lawyers.
