Prosecutor's office wants to confiscate sanatorium from Tsarukyan
Prosecutor's office demands confiscation of sanatorium in Ararat from Araratcement (owned by businessman and leader of the Prosperous Armenia party - ed.).
Corresponding lawsuit has been filed in court, reports Sputnik Armenia.
According to the prosecutor's office, the Voske banali (Golden Key) sanatorium, valued at 44.4 million drams, was sold in 2003 following a tender for just 6.5 million drams — at the minimum price.
Araratcement pledged to invest $30,000 and create 30 jobs within two years. However, these obligations were not fulfilled. At the same time, the prosecutor's office claims, fictitious documents confirming their fulfillment were drawn up.
According to the agency's assessment, the state suffered damage amounting to 44.4 million drams as a result.
Despite the failure to fulfill the obligations, the head of the state property management department did not conduct an appropriate inspection, and the Cadastre Committee in 2004 registered ownership rights for Araratcement over the sanatorium building and structures with a total area of 1,468.7 sq. m, as well as lease rights to a land plot of 3,165 hectares.
In connection with the identified violations, the prosecutor sent a report to the Anti-Corruption Committee.
At the same time, a lawsuit has been filed in the Administrative Court to invalidate Araratcement's ownership rights to the sanatorium property.
Earlier, the Prosecutor General's Office acted on a statement by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made during the election campaign and demanded annulment of the privatization results of the Araratcement enterprise.
