Fidan: Turkey ready to do everything for settlement of Russia-Ukraine conflict

Turkey is ready to act as a mediator in settling the Russia-Ukraine conflict or provide a platform for negotiations.

This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan during talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"In my opening remarks I would like to touch on the Ukraine conflict. I would like to note once again that our country, Turkey, is ready to do everything possible that depends on it - this concerns a mediating role as well: possibly to be a mediator itself or to provide a platform for a mediating role so that this war ends," he said.

"Because this destabilization, this escalation could lead to further expansion of the war, so it is necessary to do everything possible to end it," the Turkish minister added.
