Araghchi: Iran will consider any Israeli attack on Lebanon a violation of the memorandum with the US
Iran will regard any new Israeli attack on Lebanon as a violation of the provisions of the memorandum of understanding that will be signed with US representatives on Friday in Geneva.
This was stated by the head of the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic Abbas Araghchi.
"Any military attack by the Zionist regime (meaning Israel - TASS note) on Lebanon and its continued occupation of Lebanese territories in the future, in our opinion, will become a violation of the memorandum of understanding," he noted during a meeting with ambassadors of foreign states.
Earlier, US and Iranian officials, as well as Pakistan, acting as a mediator in the negotiation process, confirmed the reaching of an agreement between Washington and Tehran. It is planned to be signed in Geneva on June 19. As reported in Tehran, during the 60-day period after the signing of the memorandum, the parties will discuss, among other things, the Iranian nuclear program, and from June 15, the end of the maritime blockade of the Islamic Republic by the US is announced, as well as the immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon.
