Canadian singer and Blood, Sweat & Tears soloist David Clayton-Thomas has died at the age of 85.

The musician gained fame as part of the group Blood, Sweat & Tears at the end of 1968. The singles You've Made Me So Very Happy, Spinning Wheel and And When I Die rose to the second line of the Billboard chart. In March 1970, the group received the Grammy Award in the Album of the Year category.
In 1972, Clayton-Thomas began a solo career and combined it with work in the band. In 1996, the musician was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, and in 2010 his star was installed on the Walk of Fame in Toronto.
