Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will discuss the South Caucasus conflict, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the Middle East and cooperation on regional problems with EU representatives.

TASS was told by a source in the Turkish Foreign Ministry that European External Action Service head Kaja Kallas, European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos and European Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner will arrive in Turkey on June 30 to discuss these topics.

"During the talks with European Commission representatives, Fidan will discuss the Russian-Ukrainian war, the situation in the South Caucasus, Gaza and Palestine, as well as other topics including Syria and Iran. An assessment will be made of the state of the most important regional problems directly affecting Turkey and the EU, and there will also be a discussion of the steps that can be taken jointly with the EU to ensure peace and stability in the region and beyond," the source said.

Fidan will also "draw attention to the importance of cooperation between Turkey and the EU in the context of implementing Mediterranean and Black Sea strategies." "He will note the mutually beneficial nature of developing bilateral and regional cooperation between Turkey, a key player in the region, and the EU in the context of the contribution of transport infrastructure to stability and economic sustainability in the Black Sea region, the South Caucasus and Central Asia," the interlocutor said.

In this context, it is expected that at the meeting Fidan will "draw attention to the need for regular and action-oriented dialogue, coordination and cooperation between Turkey and the EU," and will also "express satisfaction with the resumption of regional consultations at the technical level."
