Pashinyan: Yerevan will not react to Israeli government's recognition of Armenian genocide

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan considers it inappropriate to react to the Israeli government's recognition of the Armenian genocide in Ottoman Turkey in 1915.

"We do not see the need to react (to the Israeli government's decision), since we believe that entering into the topic of turning the Armenian genocide into a weapon does not stem from Armenia's interests. That is, there is no need for a reaction," Pashinyan told journalists on Monday.

Last Sunday, the Israeli government voted to officially recognize the Armenian genocide. Foreign Minister Gideon Saar introduced the corresponding resolution for consideration by the cabinet of ministers. After the government's decision, the resolution will be submitted for consideration by the Knesset.
