Netanyahu warned of a possible attack on Israel ahead of the elections

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claims that there is a threat of an attack on his country in the run-up to the parliamentary elections scheduled for October 27. He said this in a video address recorded at the Israeli Air Force's Tel Nof base and distributed by the prime minister's office.

"We have indications that before the elections our enemies will try to attack us. That is why from here, from this Air Force base, from which the long arm of the State of Israel operates, I address a message to them: do not mess with us - neither now nor later. Our long arm will reach you anywhere and at any time," he said.

Parliamentary elections in Israel will be held on October 27. Based on their results, a new Knesset (parliament) will be formed, after which the leader of the party that receives the largest number of mandates will be tasked with forming a new government. At the moment, according to the latest polls, the bloc of the current ruling coalition led by Netanyahu's Likud party and the united opposition are running neck and neck. At the same time, neither side is gaining the majority of 61 out of 120 seats in the Knesset required to form a ruling coalition.
