Ec discusses complete ban on issuing tourist visas to Russians

The European Commission is discussing the possibility of a complete ban on issuing tourist visas to Russian citizens.

Izvestia reported this, citing a European source.

"These proposals are being discussed in coordination with EU member states," the publication's source said.

European Parliament deputy Fernand Kartheiser explained to Izvestia that the visa restrictions under discussion are aimed at destabilizing Russian society ahead of the State Duma elections.

The British Embassy in Moscow told the newspaper that London is actively working with EU partners on introducing visa restrictions against Russian military personnel.
