Yerevan declares interest in preserving dialogue with Moscow
Armenia is interested in preserving dialogue with Russia, and bilateral contacts are expected in the near future.
This was stated to journalists by Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan, TASS reports.
"We are interested in dialogue, interested in continuing our relations, and contacts will take place in the near future," the Armenian diplomat said in response to a request to comment on the current state of Armenian-Russian relations.
On June 29, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that he expects contacts with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the near future.
At the end of May, Putin compared the current situation in Armenia with the crisis in Ukraine in 2014. At the same time, the Kremlin published a joint statement by the leaders of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, which spoke of the need to hold a referendum in Armenia on joining the EU or remaining in the EAEU.
Earlier, Pashinyan stated that he does not consider restrictions on the import of Armenian goods to Russia as sanctions.
