Araghchi compares U.S. sanctions to a movie that has already been watched many times

Iranian authorities know how to counter the sanctions of U.S. President Donald Trump, since it is not the first time restrictions have been imposed on the country.

This was stated by the Islamic Republic's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who noted that the situation resembles watching a movie for a second time.

"The economic sanctions that Trump is announcing are a recurring scenario and the same familiar rudeness of American policy. In essence, this is a movie we have already seen many times, and we know how to deal with it," he said in an interview with the Jamaran agency.

The foreign minister emphasized that the new U.S. economic course against Iran will fail, just like all previous attempts. The actions of the United States, in Araghchi's opinion, indicate that Washington is in despair, and the only way out of the current situation is "to conduct a respectful dialogue with the people of Iran."

Earlier, Trump announced the beginning of an "economic war and isolation" of Iran on an unprecedented scale. The American leader also warned that countries whose financial institutions, businesses, airports or government agencies provide support to Tehran will face serious economic consequences from the United States.
The Islamic Republic's Foreign Ministry stated on this matter that "the U.S. sanctions policy toward Iran is economic terrorism and a crime against humanity." The Iranian agency pointed out that "the U.S. administration, those who developed the sanctions plans, and those who implement them must bear appropriate punishment."
