Pashinyan: Power lines with Azerbaijan and Turkey will contribute to Armenia's energy security
The construction of power lines with Azerbaijan and Turkey will contribute to Armenia's energy security.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a joint press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Yerevan, Sputnik Armenia reports.
As the head of the Armenian government noted, in the context of implementing the "Crossroads of Peace" project, unblocking transport links, in parallel with ensuring transport connectivity, it is also important to expand energy connectivity, including with Turkey and Azerbaijan.
"This also concerns the construction of power transmission lines and connectors, which can contribute to both energy security and the green transition," Pashinyan said.
It is noted that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, the day before during a visit to Baku, reported that the EU will allocate €200 million for the development of transport connectivity in the South Caucasus.
