The signing ceremony took place following their meeting at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, held on the sidelines of the 36th NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government.
During the talks, the leaders discussed the development of Turkish-British bilateral relations, as well as current regional and international issues.
The Turkish President also stated that contemporary global challenges confirm the need to preserve NATO's key role in the collective security system and to strengthen transatlantic ties. According to him, NATO allies that are not members of the European Union should be involved in EU defense initiatives.
