President of Cuba declares that the US has no right to demand his resignation
President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel stated that the United States has no right to demand his resignation from his post, and only the people of Cuba can decide whether he should remain at the head of the country or not.
"If the Cuban people come to the conclusion that I am not fulfilling my duties, then I should not hold the position of president, and I will be accountable to them," he said in an interview with NBC News. "However, the United States cannot impose anything on us. The US government, which pursues a hostile policy toward Cuba, has no moral right to demand anything from Cuba."
