Pezeshkian: Iran considers Muslim countries friendly
Iran considers all Islamic countries in the Middle East friendly, and the strikes on U.S. facilities in their territories were acts of self-defense.
This was stated by the President of the Islamic Republic, Masoud Pezeshkian.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran considers all Muslim countries as its brothers, and this position is based on the practice of the Prophet Muhammad. At the same time, the recent actions of striking U.S. military bases in the region were carried out as part of defensive measures," he said during a meeting with the Commander of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, Asim Munir.
In addition, Pezeshkian expressed the opinion that countries in the region could address issues collectively, relying on "religious and cultural commonalities," as, in his words, Europe does "through the mechanism of NATO."
The President of the Islamic Republic emphasized that the conflict in the Middle East benefits no party. He noted that the Islamic Republic is committed to diplomatic paths for resolving the current situation, but added that the country will always be ready to fight for its sovereignty.
In conclusion, the President of Iran expressed gratitude to the leadership and people of Pakistan for their support of the country and mediation efforts to achieve a ceasefire.
