Scandal around the 'My Step' foundation: Anna Hakobyan threatens legal action

Executive Director of the 'My Step' Foundation Anna Hakobyan stated that she may turn to law enforcement agencies in connection with the actions of Daniel Ioannisyan, the head of the public organization 'Union of Informed Citizens.'

She also did not rule out filing a lawsuit against the 'Independent Observer' bloc. Hakobyan announced this during a press conference on Monday, as reported by Sputnik Armenia.

Earlier, the pro-Western bloc 'Independent Observer' claimed alleged violations in the activities of the 'My Step' Foundation over the past months and appealed to the Administrative Court with a demand to hold Anna Hakobyan administratively liable for 15 episodes. In particular, they believe that the concerts held on April 19 in Gyumri and on April 23 in Yerevan were of a promotional nature in the interests of the 'Civil Contract' party.

According to Hakobyan, she has instructed her legal team to study the situation and assess the grounds for initiating a criminal case against Ioannisyan, as well as for filing a lawsuit against the 'Independent Observer' for the protection of the foundation's business reputation.

She clarified that the court appeal dated April 22 is based on the interpretation of the foundation's charitable activities. In her opinion, this is related to an attempt to link her activities with the current authorities and the 'Civil Contract' party.

Hakobyan noted that if the court establishes violations, she could face a fine of 6 million drams (about $18,000). At the same time, she believes that the actions of her opponents violate her rights guaranteed by the Constitution and international norms.
