Zelensky thanked Ilham Aliyev for humanitarian and energy assistance to Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky sent a congratulatory letter to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Independence Day.

The letter states:

«Dear Mr. President.

I cordially congratulate You and the people of Azerbaijan on the Independence Day of Your country.

Azerbaijan, year after year increasing its role and authority in regional and international processes, demonstrates dynamic development as an important participant in regional cooperation in the energy, logistics and economic spheres.

Ukraine highly appreciates the strategic nature of relations between our countries and the consistent support that Azerbaijan provides to our state, as well as to the people of Ukraine during this extremely difficult period.

I express to You special gratitude for the humanitarian and energy assistance provided to Ukraine, participation in the restoration of the city of Irpin, as well as the implementation of programs for the rehabilitation and health improvement of Ukrainian children. These steps are a manifestation of genuine solidarity and mutual respect between our states.

Ukraine invariably supports the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of states within their internationally recognized borders. I am confident that adherence to these principles will continue to remain the basis of stability and security in the Black Sea-Caspian region.

I am convinced that there is great potential for further development of cooperation between Ukraine and Azerbaijan in the energy and logistics spheres, in the field of transport connectivity, infrastructure and security. In the conditions of transformation of global energy and logistics routes, the role and resilience of our states in ensuring regional interconnections will only grow. I believe that the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani strategic partnership will continue to strengthen in the interests of our states and peoples.
