Pashinyan states that there will be no major changes in the composition of the Armenian government
There will be no major changes in the composition of the Armenian government.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a briefing on June 11.
Pashinyan did not specify exactly what changes would take place, noting only that the ruling Civil Contract party would form the government on its own and would not refuse offers of cooperation.
In response to a question about the use of administrative resources during the elections, Pashinyan said that Armenia had never seen such electoral processes in which the head of state traveled so much and communicated with voters. "If they had relied on administrative resources, what would have been the point of expending so much energy. I place my hope in the citizen of Armenia and conduct a dialogue with them. There are no other tools, there have not been and there will not be," Pashinyan assured.
He also said that there is a public demand to establish a residency requirement for voting (meaning allowing only those Armenian citizens who have lived in the republic for a long time to participate in elections), and there should be a response to this demand.
Speaking about the basis on which he declared victory for his party without waiting for a statement from the CEC, Pashinyan pointed to the results of polls and the voting outcomes available at that time from a number of polling stations, which allowed him to make such a statement.
When asked about the fate of the constitutional referendum, Pashinyan said the issue would be discussed, after which a decision would be made.
