Iranian authorities close Strait of Hormuz until further notice

The Persian Gulf Control Administration of Iran (PGSA) reported that due to a new round of escalation between Iran and the United States, a decision was made to close the Strait of Hormuz until further notice.

"In connection with the tension caused by the actions of American forces in the region, and according to the statement of the Armed Forces of Iran published last night, the Strait of Hormuz will be closed until further notice," the department's page on X indicates.

In Tehran, they added that vessels that had already received permission to pass through the strait earlier "need to be patient" and wait for further instructions from PGSA.

Earlier, the central headquarters "Khatam al-Anbiya" of the Iranian Armed Forces stated that Tehran decided to completely block the movement of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz against the background of repeated US strikes on Iranian territory.
