British defense minister resigns over insufficient investments in defense

British Defense Minister John Healey has resigned from his post due to the lack of promised investments in defense projects.

“You failed, and the Treasury did not want to allocate the resources necessary for the country to protect itself in a period of growing threats,” wrote the head of the department in a letter to Prime Minister Keir Starmer. He himself published it on X.

Healey acknowledged that he took this step “with deep regret and great reluctance.”
