Negotiations between the US and Iran in Switzerland resume in unofficial format
Diplomatic contacts between representatives of Iran and the US in Switzerland continue, despite the recent crisis.
As the Al Hadath channel reports, members of the Iranian mission have returned to the hotel, but now discussions with the American side are taking place exclusively in an "unofficial format" and are carried out through intermediaries.
Earlier, the negotiation process was on the verge of a complete breakdown after the Iranian delegation demonstratively left the meeting hall. According to the Tasnim agency, the reason for the demarche was the harsh statements by US President Donald Trump on his Truth Social platform and on Fox News. The White House chief threatened Tehran with new destructive strikes if the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) blocks the Strait of Hormuz, and also demanded an immediate end to the financing of controlled groups in Lebanon. In response to these threats, the Iranian side put forward a tough condition, announcing that it would not return to official discussions until the American leader publicly apologized.
