Arabian coalition threatens Houthis

The Arabian coalition led by Saudi Arabia will strike positions of the Houthis from the Yemeni movement "Ansar Allah" in case the rebels attempt to attack the kingdom.

This was stated by the official representative of the alliance, Turki al-Maliki.
"The coalition will respond and strike with all determination and unprecedented force to counter any attempts to attack the kingdom, its citizens and national wealth, as well as attempts to violate the sovereignty of the brotherly Yemeni Republic," the Saudi Press Agency quotes him as saying.
The alliance representative called the recent statements by the Houthis with threats against Riyadh "an attempt to divert attention from serious crimes against the Yemeni people." According to al-Maliki, the rebels seek to shift responsibility for economic problems and hide growing discontent within Yemen.

He stressed that "Ansar Allah" rejects peace initiatives and continues to attack shipping lanes in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Thus, the major general pointed out, the Houthis put at risk of complete destruction vital facilities in Yemen, including the ports of Hodeidah, As-Salif and Ras Isa, Sana'a International Airport, as well as power plants and industrial enterprises.

On July 3, the rebels announced the use of anti-aircraft missiles against Saudi combat aircraft, which allegedly tried to prevent the landing of an Iranian civilian flight in Sana'a. The Houthis threatened Riyadh with strikes on airports and vital facilities in case of a repeat of such incidents.
