Lawsuit filed against Nikol Pashinyan
Leader of the "Sacred Struggle" movement, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, has filed a lawsuit against Nikol Pashinyan.
He demands that Pashinyan retract a statement that "does not correspond to reality and defames the honor and dignity of the archbishop."
This refers to the prime minister's statement on June 11, in which he claimed that "Civil Contract received 100% organic votes, and the other forces received '100% votes for bribes.'" "No one would have voted for them without money, absolutely no one," the prime minister stated.
In addition, Galstanyan demands symbolic compensation in the amount of 49.7 drams — exactly the percentage of votes that, according to official data, "Civil Contract" received in the elections.
Parliamentary elections in Armenia took place on June 7, 2026. According to official results, three political forces entered the National Assembly: the "Civil Contract" party received 49.7456% of the votes (726,819 votes), the "Strong Armenia" bloc — 23.2710% (340,060 votes), and the "Armenia" bloc — 9.9231% (144,983 votes).
The "Prosperous Armenia" party received 58,287 votes (3.9893%) and failed to overcome the 4% threshold established by law.
In the new composition of the parliament, "Civil Contract" received 64 mandates, the "Strong Armenia" bloc — 29, and the "Armenia" bloc — 12.
