Mohsen Rezaei: Iran will not allow a single drop of oil to be exported from the Persian Gulf

Iran is prepared to strike tankers not only in the Strait of Hormuz, but also along other oil export routes from the Persian Gulf, if the countries of the region support U.S. sanctions against Tehran.

This was stated by the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaei.

According to him, Tehran will not allow a situation in which the states of the Persian Gulf take Washington's side and continue exporting oil. Rezaei emphasized that in that case Iran will not allow "a single drop of oil" to be exported from the entire region. He noted that at the moment the Strait of Hormuz is blocked, and exports along other routes have not yet been targeted, but the status quo could change.

The Secretary of Iran's Security Council also stated that the United States will ultimately abandon its allied commitments to the Arab countries, and urged them not to count on long-term protection from the American military.

Tehran's statements came after U.S. President Donald Trump announced on August 20 the launch of a large-scale economic operation against Iran, warning that any country providing assistance to Tehran would face severe economic consequences.
