Man who "drowned" in Astara left Azerbaijan the next day
A man who was believed to have drowned at a beach in Astara turned out to be alive and left Azerbaijan by plane the next day.
As 1news.az reports, on August 19 at around 7:00 p.m., police received information that 36-year-old Elmar Mammadli, a resident of the Masalli district, had drowned in the Caspian Sea off the coast of Astara and that his body had disappeared in the water.
However, officers of the Astara District Police Department established that the man had not drowned, but had left the territory of Azerbaijan by air on August 20.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
