Zelensky nominates Khmara for the post of head of Ukraine's Defense Ministry
Volodymyr Zelensky has nominated Yevhen Khmara for the post of head of Ukraine's Defense Ministry.
This follows from the materials of the discussion of the candidate with the factions in the Verkhovna Rada, which are being published by deputy Yaroslav Zhelezniak on his Telegram channel.
Andrii Sybiha is being proposed for the post of foreign minister. Both Khmara and Sybiha are currently acting heads of the respective ministries. At the same time, their candidacies have not formally been submitted to parliament.
Earlier, Ukrainian media reported that Sybiha would most likely receive enough votes in the Rada to be appointed foreign minister, but expressed doubts as to whether the deputies would support Khmara's candidacy. Voting on both candidates is expected on August 19.
