FIFA may introduce non-standard player entrance onto the field in 2026 World Cup matches
FIFA is planning to abandon the traditional player entrance onto the field at the 2026 World Cup, journalist Ben Jacobs reports on social media.
FIFA representatives are currently testing a new form of player entrance, instead of adhering to the traditional soccer approach. At the same time, FIFA does not want to use the single-player entrance system that was tested in the decisive stages of the Club World Cup — the stadium announcer introduced each footballer individually during their entrance onto the field.
It is noted that FIFA wants to promote all players personally, without copying the NBA basketball league's approach one-to-one, which they tried to implement at the Club World Cup.
Recall that the 2026 World Cup will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The tournament will take place from June 11 to July 19.
