Kavelashvili: Cooperation between Baku and Tbilisi strengthens regional security
Relations of strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Georgia are strengthening.
As Report reports, this was stated by President Mikheil Kavelashvili, congratulating the Muslim community at an event in a mosque in Tbilisi on the occasion of the Gurban holiday.
The president noted the special importance of the relations of friendship and brotherhood between Georgia and Azerbaijan. According to him, the cooperation of the two countries is based on mutual respect and historical ties.
Kavelashvili, recalling his visits to Azerbaijan, stated that he perceives the country as a native and fraternal state. He emphasized that peace, stability, and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia contribute to strengthening common security in the region.
The president also noted that the Azerbaijani community in Georgia is an integral part of the country. According to him, the participation of Azerbaijani deputies and community representatives in socio-political life contributes to further deepening ties between the two states.
Kavelashvili also touched on the issue of the social position of Azerbaijanis living in Georgia and the importance of them learning the state language. He noted that progress in this direction expands the opportunities of citizens and contributes to their integration into society.
